Meridyth Kaye Lucas, born Aug. 10, 1954, in Denver, died Saturday, July 15, 2017.
She will be deeply missed by her loving family: her husband of 36 years, Grantly; son Jamie (Lisa); daughter Carly (Grant); and stepson Josh (Aja). She will also be missed by her mother Norma, her father-in-law Jim, and her siblings Rick, Carol, Linda and Mike. Basically, if you know her, you miss her.
She was preceded in death by her father Richard Sherman and mother-in-law Gretchen Lucas.
While everyone who knew her felt her tremendous spirit and incredible heart, here is something she wrote that captures her essence for those who didn't get the chance to know her:
"This is a tough time ... blah blah. I am so lucky. My husband is the greatest in the world. I do not know how I became so lucky for him to have found me. I thank God every day for that. Grant has given me, taught me, helped me, loved me more than the world. I am forever grateful, thankful and full of love for him. I adore you, Grant. I love you more than the world. More than everything.
"Our children: my God, how can I say anything except what a gift from God they are. When I was pregnant with them both, all I could do was wrap my own arms around my belly and thank God for these marvelous creations. I really could not fathom at that time what they would grow up to become. And I realize they aren't even close to reaching what they will become, but I do realize that they are incredible and stupendous human beings. I could not be more proud. The love I have for them - beyond words. The fact that they know that - beyond the imagination. The fact that we all say how much we love each other and truly feel that - NIRVANA. Every day.
"Tough times? We all have them. Love that never quits? You're lucky to come close to it. But I bet more people have that than they know. The blessed part is realizing that you have it. My family: We do. To and for all of us. I love you. More. More than the world."
We loved her more.
