Rosemary Reichwein, longtime Georgetown resident, passed away on Nov. 11, 2018. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church in Georgetown.
She was born in Limon, Colo., on May 24, 1924, and moved with her family, John and Hazel Harmer, to Empire when she was 12 years old. She married Georgetown native Mel Reichwein in 1941. Mel and Rose were both large presences in Georgetown and well-known throughout the county.
She was best known for her distinguished career as the Clear Creek Fifth Judicial District combined court clerk (county and district).
She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown with many years as a choir member and at various times as an Elder of the church. Following a health concern in 2013, Rosemary lived contentedly with her daughter and son-in-law in Castle Rock.
Love and attention were given by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Leo the dog and the unnamed cat. She enjoyed horses, plentiful birds, deer, rabbits and other nature presented outside her window on the world.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Mel, and siblings Gwendolyn, Bill and Jack.
Rosemary is survived by four children: Nancy, Tim, Sparky, Robin and their spouses; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to recognize and thank Suncrest Hospice for its care. In lieu of flowers, donations to favorite charities in her name are suggested as a remembrance.
