Terry Allan Mertens, 77, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at his home in Grand Junction.
He was born in March 1940 at Omaha, Neb., the son of Helmuth E. and Delores M. He was a graduate of Evergreen High School and a longtime area resident. He worked most of his life for Public Service Co. of Colorado. He had a love for family and fishing.
On Oct. 19, 1971, he married Ginger in Golden.
Survivors include his wife, Ginger; sister Lynne and partner Jeff of Steamboat Springs; his children, Pamela and husband Jordan of Kansas, Cindy of Colorado, David and wife Jo-Ann of Aurora, Margaret of Copake, N.Y., and Terry Jr. and partner Pam of Washington D.C.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon Mertens.
