Bryant, Scott Russell - Cleveland  
Scott Russell Bryant, age 73 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015. He was born December 8, 1941 in Pasadena, Texas to parents Elizabeth Upton Bryant and Wilford Barney Bryant who preceded him in death along with his daughter, Dana Elizabeth Bryant. Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Bryant; sons, Kyle Scott Bryant, Craig Russell Bryant and Ryan Barney Bryant; brother, Paul Monroe Bryant; grandchildren, Angela Nicole Bryant, William Barrett Bryant and Christine Elizabeth Bryant; numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Graveside services will follow starting at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2015 at Grand View Memorial Park, Pasadena, Texas.

Cannon, Roy Edward - Cleveland  
Roy Edward Cannon of Tarkington Prairie passed away August 7, 2015. Roy was born in Lufkin, Texas to his parents Jack and Reland Webb. He grew up and attended school in Galena Park, Texas. He was their biggest football fan and never missed a game. He worked with his father at Greens Bayou Welding, and later at Armco Steel International. In 1978 Roy and his wife Nellie Jo bought Spencer's and changed the name of the store to Cannons Grocery. He spent the next several years expanding the store adding on to the building numerous times. He added a feed store and changed the name to Cannons Farm and Ranch. The Cannons have always served homemade food, but in 1992 they added the current café. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Reland Cannon; his wife of 44 years, Nellie Jo Cannon; sister, Clara Mullanix; and brother, Hugh Cannon. Survivors include his wife, Carol Cannon; daughters, Deborah Baker and husband Wayne, and Teresa Edwards and husband Ronnie; sister-in-law, Marilyn Reed; honorary son, Jeff Wyatt and wife Michele; grandchildren, Michael Baker, Lisa Edwards McNeese, Michele Baker Seale, and Lorie Edwards Hull; and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Taylor Baker, Zachary and Coedy Vela, Ethan and Zach Seale, Matison Street, Brayden, Adelaide and Alex Hull. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2015 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Rural Shade Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas

Cole, Carl - Cleveland  
Carl Rex Cole, 64, of Cleveland, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015. He was born on Monday, June 18, 1951 in Cleveland, Texas to Luther Cole and Mona Lee Cole. Carl was also preceded in death by his father, Luther Cole, brother, Frank Cole. Left to cherish his memory is his loving mother Mona Lee Cole; sister, Diane Schroeder; three brothers, Lou Cole and wife Evelyn, Dwight Cole and wife Laura, and Larry Cole. Along with numerous loving nieces and nephews and other treasured friends.

Albert Verdi Collier, age 86 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was born April 14, 1929 in Cameron, Texas to parents George and Maggie Collier who preceded him in death along with his siblings, Connie Smith, Hillman Collier, Mary Ann Collier, and Bonnie Peebles. Survivors include his wife, Margaret L. Collier; daughters, Cindy Collins and husband Johnny Collins and Vickie Fuller; son, Ricky Collier; sisters, Allie Ruth Drapela and Martha Peebles; brothers, Alton R. Collier and Thomas H. Collier; grandchildren, Jason Collier, Kristi Moore, Brian Fuller, Melissa Collins, Shawn Collins and Scott Fuller; great-grandchildren, Shauna Fuller, Braxten Fuller, Kameron Moore and Avery Fuller; numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Westside Church of Christ, Cleveland, Texas.

Harris, Billie - Cleveland  
Billie Marie Harris was born March 9, 1943 to Dean and Dorothy Mullens Rasberry, and passed away in Conroe, Texas on August 17, 2015 at the age of 72. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She loved Splendora and served her city in numerous positions which include: Splendora City Council Member, Splendora Volunteer Fire Department District Board, and Splendora Founders Day Association. Billie Marie was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, Vernon Courtney Barrow; step son Joseph Harris; brother, Robert Dean Rasberry. She is survived by her husband, Dewayne Harris; children: Bennie "Skip" Barrow and Lou Ann Barrow, Allen Barrow and Ludie Rodriguez, Teresa Jones and Mark Jones and Rachel Fillpot and Dan Fillpot; brothers: Dennis Rasberry, David Rasberry, Jesse Rasberry and Steven Rasberry; sisters, Stephanie Lindsey and Adell Nelson; grandchildren: Charles Barrow, Wesley Hicks, Jeremy Bratton and Sonja Bratton, Stephanie Barrow Garcia and Cannan Garcia, Courtney Jones Watz and Clayton Watz, Montanna Jones, Joseph Fillpot and Kerstin Fillpot; great grandchildren: Madison Bratton, Ethan Bratton, Peyton Bratton, Brandon Barrow Young, Octavian Barrow Garcia and Tanner Hicks Barrow. Visitation was at Neal Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 6-8pm. Funeral Service was in the Neal Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at l0 am with Rev. Sherri Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Splendora City Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be: Ronald Dean, Roger Pagan, Matthew Jones, Chad Pollard, Clayton Watz and Dr. Scott Jones.

Mosley, Norma Jean Jackson - Cleveland  
Norma Jean Jackson Mosley, age 89 of Dayton, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015. She was born June 18, 1926 in Tarkington Prairie, Texas to parents Wallace and Agnes Jackson who preceded her in death along with her husband of 58 years, Welton Mosley; brother, Ray Jackson; and sisters, Mattie Curry and Bonnie King. Norma was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She graduated from Liberty High School then began work at the Houston Telephone Company. She served as church secretary at Forest Oaks Baptist Church in Houston and at the Cleveland First Methodist Church. Mrs. Mosley loved and served God her entire life. She loved her family, church and fellow man. She enjoyed traveling throughout the US, Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and Israel. She taught children in Sunday school at every church she attended in her lifetime, for more than 50 years. Her goal was to teach them to "love Jesus, love other people and that even if hard times come, they would be all right." She probably touched the lives of at least 1,000 children. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Davis and husband Fleet; son, Travis Mosley and wife Karen; step-daughter, Nina Bowden and husband Jim; sisters, Amy Milam and Sadie Smith; brother, Dewitt Jackson and wife Dorthy; faithful friend and honorary daughter, Darlene Story; grandchildren, Richard Munneke and wife Kim, Matthew Munneke, Fleet (Lee) Davis III and wife Emily, Nathaniel Davis and wife Amanda, Steve Canerday and wife Mary, Lisa McCarter, Scott Canerday and wife DeEtte, Sondra Black and husband Lee, Jimmy Bowden and wife Keri, Rodney Stokley and wife Tina, Richard Stokley and wife Michelle, Shannon Stokley and wife Beverly, and Misty Clark and husband David; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Siena Munneke, Emily and Chris Canerday, Macey and Kaylie Canerday, Madeleine McCarter, Sean Black, Derek Stokley, Rodney Stokley, Cody Stokley, Mark Stokley, Sarah Stokley, Kathy Stokley, Kyle Stokley, Hayley Stokley, Shanna Stokley, Richard Stokley, Kathlyn Stokley, Troy Stokley, Sammy Stokley, Jonathan Stokley, Chandler Fails, Kama Clark and Mila Clark; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Rural Shade Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas. Owens, Ruth A. - Auburn Hills  
Ruth Alderee Owens, 81, of Katy, Texas died August 6th 2015. Ruth Denman, daughter of Jesse and Ora Jewel Denman, loving wife of Thomas Owens, passed away on August 6th in Houston, Texas. She is survived by her husband Tom, and three daughters and three sons, Pam (Jay) Haratsis, Debbie (Ron Byrd) Donovan, Susan (Ritch) Carroll, Christopher (Rebecca) Jones, Kent (Lalanie) Owens and Kevin Owens, sister Faye (Charles) Wigley and sister in law Maybelle Denman. Ruth was preceded in death by brothers Robert Denman and Harold (Rocky) Denman and sisters Gay Nell Hager, Hazel Ellison and Laverne English. She is also survived by twenty two grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ruth attended High School in Tarkington Prairie, Texas. Ruth lived most of her life in the Houston and Onalaska,Texas area. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 11:00 am at the Montague Cemetery Chapel located between McGinnis Road and Foster Tram Rd on FM 1725 near Cleveland, Texas.

Barbara was also preceded in death by her husband, Rayford Lee Robison; daughter, Minnie "Puddin" Rhodes; brother Avon Tanton,; brother-in-law Roy Hoke; friends Mary and Bud Shay; Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Melissa and husband Shohn Alexander and April Luce; Her loving brothers, Dennis Ray and wife Cathy Tanton, Robert Tanton, Chester and wife Dedria Tanton, Billy Joe Tanton, and David Lynn Tanton. Loving sisters, Minnie Hoke, and Carol and Chester Quinn; grandchildren, Kayli Alexander, Kaven Alexander, Mariah Loney, Rebecca Wells, Chance Payne; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends. Smith, Rachel Lee Rushing - Cleveland  
Rachel Lee Rushing Smith was born October 10, 1935 in Woodville, Texas to H.I. and Thelma Gibson Rushing. She left this world on August 18, 2015 to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years J.D. Smith; brother, John Rushing; sisters, Nancy Pfieffer and Chety Arnold. Rachel is survived by daughters - Dianne Smith, Jerrye Pearce (husband Glen), Debbie Clark (husband James); Sons - David Smith (wife Janice), Leeland Smith, and Dwayne Smith (wife Terry); sisters, Barbara Collis, Judy Rice; and brother, Charlie Rushing. Rachel enjoyed her many grandchildren Daniel Clark (wife Cortney), Brad Pearce (wife Ellen), Sabrina McKnight (husband David), Regina Clark, Steven Smith (wife Lauren), Christian Powell (husband Rick), Lindsey Smith (husband James), Annie Smith, Sarah Smith, Jonathan Smith, and Gracie Smith. She has been blessed with 13 great grandchildren - Caitlin, Elijah, Josylin, Brooklyn, Addison, Davis, Pearce, Parker, Porter, Avree, Garrett, Chase and Kaylee who will join this team any day. Rachel is also survived by many extended family members and great friends who have been such a joy in her life. A special thank you to her friends at Season's Hospice, Janett, Beverly, Tammy, Erin and Prescilla. You have made this journey with us so much sweeter. Rachel was a 1953 graduate of Cleveland High School, then married Navy sweetheart J.D. She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. After building a family of six she worked for Dr. Ganderillas for several years. Rachel also was a member of the Red Hat Club - Prissy Missys and served as chaplain of VFW Ladies Aux. 1839 for several years. After retirement Rachel and J.D. spent their retirement years traveling and working with the Texas Baptist Builders and spending time with family and friends. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1839 or Calvary Baptist Church Lottie Moon Missions Fund. Pallbearers: Daniel Clark, Brad Pearce, Steven Smith, Jonathan Smith, Ben Collis and Reggie Rice. Officiating: Rev. Glen Pearce and Rev.
