CLINTON — Mrs. Doris Grey Honeycutt, 86, of 506 Allen St., Clinton, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Southwood Nursing Center.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, March 9, 3 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Clinton with the Rev. Charles Allard officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Mrs. Honeycutt, born in 1928, was the daughter of the late James Gaston Downing and Harriet Dix Downing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Franklin Honeycutt.

Mrs. Honeycutt was retired from Duplin County Schools as a school psychologist. In addition she was the co-owner and founder of Honeycutt Exxon, of Clinton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine H. Kolb and husband Bobby of Wilmington, and one sister, Isabel Downing of Clinton.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 8, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Crumpler- Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Clinton, 408 College Street, Clinton, NC 28328.
