Glenn (Chuck) Carter, 63

CLINTON — Mr. Glenn Dale (Chuck) Carter, 63, of 280 Woodside Lane, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, at his home.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1165 Mt. Moriah Church Road, Clinton with the Rev. Andy Schaffer, the Rev. Ken Simmons and the Rev. Charles Locklear officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Carter, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Roy Lee Carter and Beatrice Simmons Carter and was the husband of Lucia Cheryl Bridwell Carter. He owned and operated Glenn's Body Shop and worked for Floyd's Used Cars. Mr. Carter was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He was predeceased by an infant brother, James Ertly Carter, and a grandson, Myles Donovan Carter.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lucia Cheryl Bridwell Carter of the home; four daughters, Kayla Jean Carter of Clinton, Julia Emanuel of Charlotte, Kristen Graham (Barry) of Warsaw, Jennifer Grace Sutton of Raleigh; three sons, James "Bubba" Sutton (Melinda) of Clinton, Terry " T.J." McLamb (Jenny) of Washington State, Patrick McLamb of Raleigh; 15 grandchildren; five brothers, Floyd Carter (Annie), Percy Carter (Farrell), Rev. Don Carter (Loretha), all of Clinton, Fairley Carter (Marshall) of Fayetteville, and Gary Carter (Sherlon Ann) of Charlotte; and a devoted canine friend, Sally.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at New Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton and other times at the home.
