Kathryn "Susie" Stewart, 72
NEWTON GROVE — Kathryn "Susie" Packer Stewart, 72, a native of Newton Grove and a retired accountant after 38 years of service with Progress Energy, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Her survivors include her husband Earl Stewart; a daughter Carla Moore and husband Craig of Garner; a son Mark Williams and fiancé April Carr of Newton Grove; grandchildren Peyton and Delaney Moore who were the joy of her life; sisters Elizabeth Woodruff and husband Jim of Clemson, S.C., and Peggy Jones and husband Joe of Newton Grove; brothers Bill Packer of Goldsboro and Tommy Packer and wife Annette of Garner; brothers-in-law Joseph Bowen, Sr. of Garner and Donald Jones of Newton Grove; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she loved all so dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Lewis Swindell Packer and Mary Monk Packer, sisters Eleanor Bowen, Mary Francis Jones, a brother James Packer and a sister-in-law Beth Packer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton Grove. Rev. Father Jim Garneau will be in charge of the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
There will be a pray service held on Tuesday, April 1, starting at 6 p.m. at the funeral home the family will receive friends after the prayer service.
