Wilma G. Mocnik, 88

CLINTON — Mrs. Wilma Grey Mocnik, 88, died on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Robert Redmond officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton Cemetery. Mrs. Mocnik, born in Pender County, N.C., was the daughter of the late Leon Vance Corbett and Martha Ezzie Wilson Corbett and was the widow of Frank A. Mocnik, Sr. She was the co-owner and operator of The Children's Shop, which was a five-store chain including stores in Clinton and Fayetteville. Mrs. Mocnik was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, J. D. Corbett, Norman Corbett and Billy Corbett; one sister, Mildred Best. Mrs. Mocnik is survived by one son, Frank Mocnik, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Mark Mocnik and wife Dawn of Wake Forest and Kristin Mocnik of Raleigh; two great-grandsons, Matthew and Caleb Mocnik, both of Wake Forest; one sister, Sylvia C. Bradshaw of Clinton; one brother, Ret. Col. Leroy Vance Corbett of Raleigh. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m., the hour prior to the service, Thursday, Oct. 31, at the funeral home.
