Allen C. Jackson
CLINTON — Mr. Allen Cooper Jackson, 71, of 40 Hondros Road, lost his battle with cancer at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bethany PFWB Church with the Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in 1942 in Harnett County, Mr. Jackson was the son of the late Ollen Cooper and Mattie Hudson Jackson. He was a retired manager with American Savings and Loan, a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners, the Rotary Club and an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Jackson; one son, Allen Cooper Jackson Jr. of Raleigh; two step-daughters, Jennifer Austin Harris and husband, Billy of Clinton, and Lesa Austin Gunnells and husband, Jack of Clinton; one sister, Pat Bradshaw and husband, David Ray of Roseboro; a loving pet and friend, Jerry Lee; and six grandchildren, Colby Jackson, Alexandra Jackson, Zoey Harris, Will Harris, Jackson Gunnells and Brody Gunnells.
The family will receive friends at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Saturday night, Nov. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at his home.
