Benjamin C. Rumsey

SALEMBURG — Mr. Benjamin C. Rumsey, 78, of 105 E Clinton St., died Nov. 15, 2013, at Southwood Nursing Home in Clinton.

Mr. Rumsey, born in McEwen, Tenn., was the son of the late Robert L. Rumsey and Della Macel Witherspoon Rumsey and the widower of Jo Ann Rumsey. He moved to Nashville from McEwen, Tenn. He worked for over thirty years at the United Methodist Publishing House. He always enjoyed bodybuilding as a hobby and competed locally for several years before retiring and moving back to McEwen. After the passing of his wife, Jo Ann, he moved to N.C. and spent his last years in a long, hard struggle with Parkinson disease.

He is survived by a son, Larry Rumsey and wife, Ann; a daughter, Teresa Creech and husband, John; granddaughter, Amanda Rumsey; sisters, Gertrude Hall, Linda Ford and husband, Ricky, and Brenda Silva and husband, Bob; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will follow in Tennessee at a later date.
