Pastor John Curtis Strouth

Pastor John Curtis Strouth, 76, of 2964 Old Warsaw Road, Clinton, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018 due to the results of an automobile accident.

Born in 1942 in Alamance County to the late John W. Strouth and Mary Hardy, John moved from Sanford in 1981 and worked at Joan of Arc/Pillsbury for 15 years. He was also the pastor of Church of God Sabbath Day for more than 20 years.

John is preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Strouth; sisters, Helen, Evelyn, Janice, Doris and Thelma; brothers, Lewis, Leonard, Gene, Malcom, Ervin and Alvin; and adopted mother, Christine Thornton Strouth.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service with Pastor Terry Rolands officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.

John leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 34 years, Connie Powell Strouth of the home; sons, Colton Strouth and wife Melissa of Clinton, Tony Wayne Strouth of Clinton; daughter, Lanna Strouth of Clinton; brother, Adrain Bill Strouth of Clayton; adopted brother, John Thornton; sisters, Earline Lee and husband Jesse of Clinton, Louise Murphy of Burlington, Peggy Margaret Tobert also of Burlington; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 3, from 7-9 p.m. at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, and other times at the home, 2964 Old Warsaw Road Clinton.
