Charles R. Matthis, 67

CLINTON — Mr. Charles Ray Matthis, 67, of 1775 Union School Road, Clinton, died Wednesday, April 16th in Greensboro, NC.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton. Military Honors will be observed. Officiating will be friends and family.

Mr. Matthis, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Claxton Hall Matthis and Ruth Reeves Matthis. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from The House of Raeford and was a member of both the Rockfish Hunting Club and the Taylor's Bridge Hunting Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Necole Armwood and husband Dwight of Greensboro; one sister, Matilda Jane Pate and husband Alan of Greenville; two grandchildren, Chris and Dominic Armwood; one nephew, Clay Pate; and many special friends and family.
