Joseph "Joe" Tart
CLINTON — Mr. Joseph Paul "Joe" Tart, 74, of 901 Underwood St., died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at his daughter's home in Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Ameen and the Rev. Allen Overton officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Born in 1941 in Harnett County, Joe was the son of the late James Brainard "Doc" and Neva Godwin Tart. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served a Military Policeman, a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, attended Campbell University and was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Pharmacy. Joe spent over 40 years as a Pharmacist serving the people of Sampson County.
Joe is survived by his wife, Martha Sue Jolly Tart of the home; two daughters, Jessica Nichole Breedlove and husband, Steven of Autryville, Pamela Lynn Tart of Raleigh; two sisters: Ann Joyner of Cary and Janie Johnson of Benson; two brothers, Corbett Tart of Dunn and Pat Tart of Baltimore, Md.; and four grandchildren, Chandler and Lauren Breedlove, Veronica Tart and Noah Davis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Wheeler and Araminta Johnson, and three brothers: Earl, John and Oliver Tart.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Royal-Hall Funeral Home, and other times at his home.
