CLYDE - Wanda Jean Gallagher, 78, Clyde, died at Elmwood in Fremont on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Wanda was born on July 20, 1935 in Venice Township, Seneca County to the now deceased Earl and Lodena (Oberlander) Slessman. She graduated from Attica Local High School in 1953 and began working at the Sutton Bank as a teller. On Jan. 29, 1961, she married Robert A. Gallagher in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Attica with Rev. Paul Long officiating. She then moved to Clyde and over the years became a partner with Bob, in farming. Wanda was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, having formerly been in the choir. She was a member of the Farm Bureau; and the Cowbell's, (the wives of the Cattlemen Association. She enjoyed her flowers and being outdoors. Additional survivors include her brother, Robert (Terri) Slessman of Attica; nephews, Christopher (Melissa) Slessman of Republic, Gary Schwochow and Philip Schwochow, both of Fremont; a great nephew, Hayden Slessman and a sister-in-law, Helen Jean Gallagher both of Clyde. Mrs. Gallagher was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, William and Ruth Schwochow. Visitation will be will Wednesday, June 11, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St. in Clyde. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Alan Knoke officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
