Gerald Clancy, 77, of Clovis, NM, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at his home in Clovis. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 4, 2012, in The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with Drew Gardner officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Gerald was born May 22, 1935, to Elza and Dollie (Durham) Clancy in Erick, OK. He married Barbara Christian January 17, 1959, in Clovis, NM. He worked as a Technician for Rays Amusement for many years and owned and operated Clancy's Carpet and Draperies from 1978 to 1983. He was a member of the Clovis Portales Elks Lodge, Clovis Executive Association, and served on the Parks and Recreation Board of the City of Clovis. Gerald loved golf (he had 4 holes-in-one), fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Clancy of the home; two daughters, Christi (Teddy) Hartley of Clovis, NM, and Cathie (Tom) Smith of Amarillo, TX; seven grandchildren, Lucrecia Berridge, Casandra Velez, Lacee Ramos, Drew Gardner, Kiko Velez, Gabriela Velez, and Ethan Smith; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Oleta Warren; a daughter, Cyndy Gardner; and a granddaughter, Dariana Velez.
