Mimi Haynes died on November 11, 2013, in her own home in Phoenix Arizona, with daughter and granddaughter by her side.
The Guest Book is expired.
Mimi was born in Rochester, MN, but moved here with parents, Dr. Allan Haynes Sr. and Mary-Virginia Haynes in the early 50's for the "asthma friendly" climate. Graduate of Scared Heart Catholic School and Clovis High (class of 66), she considered herself a native Clovite. In 1968 Mimi married Ben Robinson and they traveled the country together courtesy of the USAF.
Despite many Nun's predications, Mimi did "make" something of herself by graduating from University of New Mexico, BA and MBA in health care administration in 1985. Mimi worked as an executive for many managed care companies, finally striking out on her own as a Consultant in 2000 where she traveled extensively to new and wonderful places. Mimi retired in 2008 from health complications and returned to Phoenix in 2011 to be near her grandchildren.
10 years ago she was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer and many thought she was lost - but she choose to stay on and see her girls married with babies of their own. Last year the nasty cells came back and many thought she wouldn't last a month - yet she kept loving and living. In May when the "dragon in Noni's belly" found a new home in her colon - yet she kept on healing, hoping and playing with her "midget circus" (grandchildren)
Every morning she woke up excited about seeing her midgets and every night she went to bed with thoughts of what to do tomorrow. Hope made everyday a yesterday and kept tomorrow close at hand. Mimi had a truly blessed life, she traveled, she played, she learned and she loved. She left this earth more interesting than she found it.
Mimi's memory will always be cherished by her daughters, Rachel Snyder of Broomfield CO, grandson Rowan Snyder and granddaughter Irie Snyder, Sarah Coleman of Phoenix AZ, grandson Danny Coleman and granddaughter Simonetta Coleman. Her brother Dr. Allan Haynes Jr. and sister Cathy Haynes of Lubbock TX and her nieces and nephews Dr. Allan Haynes III, David Haynes, Melissa Goldschmidt, Mary-Cate Burns, James Burns and Cade Haynes. Younger brother Stephen Haynes and sister Kathleen Burns.
A Memorial will be held at her daughter's ranch in Quemado NM this spring - for now, memorialize her by smiling and laughing whenever you think of her.
