Santiago Betancourt, age 35, of Clovis, NM, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 13, 2012, at Legacy Life Family Church with Pastor David Lombrana officiating. Burial will be held at Mission Garden of Memories. Alejandro Ponce, Patrick Mondragon, John Hobbs, David Hobbs, Michael Mileg, and James Garcia will serve as pallbearers.

Santiago was born October 3, 1976, to Salvador "Sal" and Doris (Baca) Betancourt in Clovis, NM. He married Elizabeth "Chrisy" Gonzales in 1996 in Clovis. Santiago was of the Christain Faith. He enjoyed cooking and playing chess with his son Gabriel. He loved his children, and they were the world to him.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Betancourt; two sons, Sal Damien Apodaca and Gabriel Betancourt; two daughters, Samone Monique Betancourt and Dorissa Amaya Betancourt; his parents, Sal and Ida Betancourt; one sister, Crusita (Alex) Ponce; two brothers-in-law, Victor Gonzales and Raymond Gonzales; and his mother-in-law, Elizabeth "Liz" Gonzales, all of Clovis; his step brother, David (Veronica) Garcia and step sister, Michelle Alvarado both of Garden City, KS; two grandchildren, Damien Apodaca Jr, and Ayerim Elena Loera and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Betancourt; his brother, Sal Betancourt Jr.; grandparents, Victor and Tellie Betancourt and George and Estefanita Baca and several aunts and uncles.
