Carol A. Roberts, age 66, a resident of Belen, formerly of Clovis, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at UNM Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM. |
She was born in Lubbock, Tx, on March 20, 1948, to her parents, Clifton and Nora Jones, but was raised by her Uncle Joe, and Aunt Juanita Osborne in Clovis, NM, along with her older brother and sister.
She moved to Belen, NM in 1988, with her husband, Bill Roberts, when he was transferred there with the BNSF Railroads, and she resided there the rest of her life. Some of her interests were cooking, baseball, working crossword puzzles and doting on her grandchildren. She was a hard worker, having waitressed for many years in various Clovis restaurants. She was a devoted loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband of more than 38 years, Bill Roberts; parents, Clifton and Nora Jones; uncle and aunt, Joe and Juanita Osborne; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Ethel Roberts; and a great grandson, Jordon Sorto.
She is survived by her three children, Dale (Tammy) Roberts of Farmington, NM, Jennifer(Mike) Dennie of Clovis, NM, and Jeff (Carrie) Roberts of Clovis, NM; 25 grandchildren, Cody, Karissa, Talore, Jerrica, and Hailey Roberts, Ashley Dennie, Johnny Sorto, Ethan Dennie, Courtney, Katie (Wesley), Meghan, Joshua, Christina, Brandon, and Rebecca Roberts, Austin Ferro, Kira, Cassidy and Isis McCants, Keilani and Alexis Bass, and Travis and Shania Nelson, Patricia and Mason Gabaldon; one great grandson, Jiraiya Sorto, two great grandchildren on the way; three brothers, Kenneth (Jo) Jones, of Clovis, Gary Jones of Clovis, and Cliff (Chris) Jones of Lafayette, LA; two sisters, Wanda (Jake) Box of Clovis, and Joyce Jones of Clovis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A combined memorial service for Bill and Carol will be held at the 16th and Pile Church of Christ in Clovis, NM, , beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27. Minister Garrett Bookout will be presiding. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the
