Hermon Lloyd Elliott Obituary
Hermon Lloyd Elliott, 92 of Brenham, Texas, passed away at his home on Friday, November 22, 2013. Services are on Saturday, November 30, 2013, 1:00 P.M. at the Brenham Memorial Chapel, and he will be laid to rest with his wife Verma Lois Elliott in Portales, New Mexico on Monday, December 2, weather permitting.
Hermon had auto business enterprises in Portales and Clovis with his brothers and son, Larry Elliott. Upon retiring in Texas, he enjoyed the First Christian Church Dominoes Group, Washington County Bluebonnet Opry, area opries, Swap Meets, aficionado on Western movies, TV shows and music along with enjoying a couple of gallons each week of his favorite Strawberry Bluebell Ice Cream. He had been active in the First Baptist Church of Brenham and helped form the early flock of the Cowboy Church of Brenham.
Surviving Hermon are his loving family: Sister, Helen Elliott Moore of Albuquerque, NM; Daughter and Son-in-law, Herma Loy Elliott Smith (PHS '60) and Don Smith of Brenham; Son, Hermon Lawrence Elliott (PHS '65) of Bangs, Texas; Grandchildren from his Daughter: Lisa D Smith (BHS '82) of Highland Park, TX, Parker (BHS '84) and Carmel Smith of Brenham, TX, Traci Smith Johnson (BHS '87) and Rocky Johnson of Denton, TX, and Shay Smith Ballew (BHS '90) and Lowell Ballew of League City, TX; His Grandchildren from his Son: Lori Elliott Eason (PHS '86) and husband Richard Eason of Bangs, TX, and Coach Michael Elliott and wife Dana of Abilene, TX; Great-grandchildren from his son's daughter: Preston and Caleb Smith, Gabrielle, Katyana and Megan Johnson, and Aidan, Liam, Jude and Olivia Ballew; Great Grandchildren from his Son: Scott and Lissa Eason of Amarillo, TX, Payden and Haley Eason, Emily and Caleb Elliott; Great-great grandchildren from his daughter: Cayden, Bayleigh and Sawyer Eason, along with many loving cousins, nieces and nephews in the Western United States.
