Robert Glenn Williams, 83, of Joshua, Texas died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 in Fort Worth surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Nov. 7, 1930 in Van, W.Va., the son of the late B.V. and Mary (Bias) Williams.
After serving with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he held several jobs until finding employment with Scandinavian Airlines System, first in Chicago and later in New York City. He retired from SAS in 1993.
He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Mr. Williams loved to travel and visited every continent except Antarctica and also visited all the states in the continental United States. His zest for life and deep love for his family will make him deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith; two sons, John E. Williams and James A. Williams; two daughters, Meredyth L. Williams and Kathleen M. Hancock; two grandsons, one step-grandson and one step-granddaughter; five nieces, including Mary Lou Snodgrass Raymer; and one nephew.
A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Thomas Bias of the Van United Methodist Church, was planned at Boone Memorial Park at a future date. Mr. Williams will be buried beside his parents.
