Ivory T. Carter, 51, of Savannah departed this life on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
He was born in Greenville, South Carolina, to the parentage of Ivory and Joyce Carter. His father preceded him death.
Ivory attended Nuremburg High School in Germany. Afterward, he served three years in the United States Army. After his military career, he worked for Comcast Cable in Georgia and then went into the car sales industry where he worked for 10 years.
He was a devoted father and friend to many.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 12 years, Keshawn Carter; four children, Ivory, Vincent, I`bon`e and Icelyne Carter; a granddaughter, Shania Carter; his mother, Joyce Carter; a sister, Angela; a brother, Jeffery; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, other relatives and devoted friends.
His wake will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Dorchester Funeral Home, 7842 E. Oglethorpe Highway in Midway.
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Aug. 7, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 200 Daniel Siding Loop Road in Richmond Hill. His body will rest at the church for visitation from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
The committal service with military honors will be at 3 p.m. in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
Dorchester Funeral Home of Midway has charge of the arrangements.
