Emma L. Edwards, 93, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.
She was born December 1, 1919 to the late James and Perkaline Strickland in Bulloch County. Emma was a longtime resident of Ludowici, until 1990 when she moved to Jesup with her daughter, A. Marie Hall.
Emma never met a stranger and devoted much of her life to caring for and raising children, grandchildren, godchildren and the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Edwards Sr., and son, Wilton Edwards.
In addition to Marie, she leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Andrew Edwards Jr. of Rochester, N.Y., Willie F. Hall (Alma) of Toledo, Ohio, and the Rev. Bobby J. Hall Sr. of St. Petersburg, Fl.; daughter-in-law, Sallie Edwards of Trenton, N.J.; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Royal Funeral Home Chapel in Jesup.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Ludowici. The Rev. Dr. James L. Evans, pastor, will be the speaker of the hour. The Rev. Paul J. Bailey Jr. will officiate.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Royal Funeral Home in Jesup.

TO WILLIE F. BOBBY JOE AND ANNA MARIE, I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF MS. EMMA. YOU ALL KNOW KNOW WE CALLED HER THE NEIGHBORHOOD AUNT. SHE WAS EVERY BODY'S AUNT, ALL THE KIDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD LOVED 'MISS EMMA'. SHE LOVE TO FEED THE KIDS.SHE WAS THE BEST OF THE BEST OF BABY SITTERS. LOVED CHILDREN, LIFE, AND PEOPLE. HER SMILE LET YOU KNOW THAT SHE LOVED THOSE AROUND HER.
