Edna Mae Howard O'Neal, 62, of Riceboro passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, March 24, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Peter and Edrena Howard and a lifelong resident of Liberty County.
Edna was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kenyon and Kylie O'Neal; and four brothers, Peter Howard Jr., Randolph Howard, Johnnie Howard Jr. and Dave Howard.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leander O'Neal of Riceboro; two devoted sons, Paul O'Neal of Riceboro and Stanley O'Neal (Temeka) of Jesup; one granddaughter, Samiah O'Neal of Jesup; one sister, Leola Brown of Miami, Fla.; brothers, Eddie Lee Howard of Atlanta; Charlie Joe Howard Sr. (Lillie), Christopher Howard (Patricia) and Theodore Howard (Ophelia), all of Riceboro; six sisters-in-law, Frances Howard and Delores Howard, both of Riceboro, Gladys O'Neal, Mary Wells and Willie Mae Jacobs, all of Hinesville; and Diane Henderson of San Antonio, Texas; seven brothers-in-law, Leroy O'Neal (Alma), of Riceboro; Charles O'Neal, of Las Vegas, Nev.; Don O'Neal and Joe O'Neal of Midway, John Sapp O'Neal, of Hinesville, Jerry O'Neal of the Philippines, and Jimmy O'Neal of Atlanta; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday, March 29, at Dorchester Funeral Home, 7842 E Oglethorpe Highway, Midway. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at First African Baptist Church, Barrington Ferry Road, Riceboro, followed by the burial in the church's cemetery. The Rev. Neil Dawson will officiate.
