Evelyn Jones Jackson of Cannon Bluff, formerly of Riceboro, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Welcome Missionary Baptist Church in Cannon Bluff. Burial will be in Wallace Cemetery. Her remains will lie in state at the church one and one-half hours prior to services. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday, March 22, at new Anderson Grove Baptist Church on Retreat Road in Riceboro.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Felton Jackson Sr. of Cannon Bluff; her children, David Jackson of Augusta, Ervin Jackson of Cannon Bluff and April (Lon) Bland of Brunswick, siblings, Linda Jones and the Rev. Dr. Lelia Jones, both of Riceboro, and Gladys (Ronnie) Moody of Walthourville; and two grandchildren.
A native of Liberty County, she was a member of New Anderson Grove Baptist Church, where she served as children's church director. She was a 1977 graduate of Bradwell Institute and a 1981 graduate of Savannah State University. Her employment included Liberty County Corporative Extension Service, Union Camp, Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
