Helen F. Christopoulos Worth, 53, of Hinesville, passed away March 1, 2014, at home under Heartland Hospice Care with family by her side.
Mrs. Worth was born Oct. 3, 1960, in Hanover, Mass., to Peter and Beatrice Christopoulos. She graduated from Hanover High School in 1978. During her teen years Mrs. Worth was a member of The Imperials Drum and Bugle Corps.
She met and married her husband, John, in 1978. While he served his country in the United States Army the Worths has spent time in Washington, Virginia and Germany. After arriving in Hinesville she was a volunteer firefighter
and first responder with Gum Branch Volunteer Fire Department and a Red Cross Volunteer for Disaster Relief.
Mrs. Worth worked for the Fort Stewart Commissary as a cashier for many years and, most recently, as a home-based customer service agent for U-Haul.
Survivors are her beloved husband of 35 years, John Worth; son, Peter and fiancée, Tammy Shroyer of Coshocton, Ohio; son, Robert of Hinesville; sister, Mary, and her husband, Steve Creed of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Lisa Christopoulos of Rockland, Mass.; brother, Andrew, and his wife, Dianna of Middleboro, Mass.; brother, Paul, and his wife, Debbie Christopoulos of Serverna, Md.; sister, Sandy Christopoulos Weddleton, of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; two grandchildren, Robert and Jeannie Shroyer of Coshocton; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces.
Visitation and funeral proceedings will be private. A memorial service for friends and relatives will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at 189 Prince Road in Gum Branch.
