Jack Merrill Vereen Jr.(1942-2014)

Jack Merrill Vereen Jr., 71, of Midway passed away Monday, March 10, 2014.
Jack was born in Savannah on Nov. 16, 1942, to Jack M. Vereen Sr. and Betty Louise. He married Connie Priscilla Garrett on Aug. 24, 1963 at Grace United Methodist Church in Savannah.
Jack worked for Chatham County Mosquito Control, retiring after 30 years of service there. He then went to work for the Liberty County Mosquito Control where he was director for 10 years.
Jack loved his family and loved spending time with them as much as he could. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Savannah, a Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Savannah and a Shriner with the Alee Shriner's of Savannah.
Jack will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
Survivors are his beloved wife Connie; three children, Joann (Robert) Groover, Kimberly Wright (fiance Roy Prater) and Jack M. "Trey" Vereen III; grandchildren, Candice Heather Wright Crocker, Mark Anthony "Tony" Wright II and Christian Alexander Vereen; mother-in-law, Christine Garrett; and mother, Betty Vereen.
The family will receive friends and relatives for a celebration of his life from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home, 1822 East Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville.
