Kenneth Alvin Wedincamp, 69, of Midway passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah with family by his side.
Mr. Wedincamp was born June 21, 1943, to Alvin Wedincamp and Effie Branson Oxford. Mr. Wedincamp was a native of Savannah who had lived most of his life in Liberty County. He was a 1961 graduate of Bradwell Institute.
Mr. Wedincamp served in the Air National Guard. He worked for Richards and Associates and the Georgia Forestry Commission. Mr. Wedincamp was retired from Interstate Paper where he worked for 29 years.
He loved to fish and watch NASCAR Racing. Mr. Wedincamp was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Wedincamp, his step father; J. Milton Oxford; and sister; Faye Carlson.
Survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Kevin Ferrell, Staci and Terry Smiley and Kathy and Chris Muir, all of Midway; mother, Effie Branson Oxford of Midway; sister and brother-in-law, June and Jerry Marsh of Statesboro; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Bob Collette of Midway; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Cemetery in Midway.
Pallbearers will be Randy Marsh, Robby Marsh, Kenny Avant, Dylan Iler, Jeffrey Collette and Kevin Ferrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Walden, David Bush, Leonard Beasley, Gary Branson, Lynn Walden, Jerry Marsh, Brian Mock, Glen Townsend and Glen Herrod.
