Lula Mae Golden, 89, of Ludowici, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at her residence under the care of Hospice Savannah and her family.
She was born in Opp, Ala., and had lived in Florida before moving to Long County 43 years ago. She had worked in the retail grocery business, was a homemaker and enjoyed working with her flowers and in her garden.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and "Nanna" to neighborhood kids. She was a member of Elim Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Golden.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Lloyd Wells; a son, Curtis Golden, all of Ludowici; sisters, Louise Messick of Plant City, Fla., and Eloise Gardner of Lake Wales, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Wells, Shelly Caddell (Jamie) and Joey Wells (Kelli); four great-grandchildren, Braydyn, Lane, Jamilynn and Annlee; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at Elim Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Long and the Rev. Greg Bentley officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Burial will follow the church cemetery.
