Ronald Wayne Parker, 61, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Parker was a native of Wayne County who had lived in Gum Branch all of his life. He was born July 5, 1951, to the late Rufus and Patricia Parker. Wayne was a 1969 graduate of Bradwell Institute.
He was retired from Rayonier after 27 years of service. Wayne was a member and the chairman of deacons at Trinity Baptist Church. He was a God loving man. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman who loved the woods and nature.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Darlene Parker of Gum Branch; sons, Brandon Wayne Parker and Corey Parker, both of Gum Branch; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mickey and Donna Parker and Phillip and Beth Parker, all of Gum Branch; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Randall Peden of Gum Branch; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 12, at Trinity Baptist Church, 679 Lee Place Road NE, Ludowici.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in the Daniel Siding Baptist Church Cemetery in Richmond Hill.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Parker, Phillip Parker, Adam Parker, Travis Parker, Doug Walter and Creg Wasdin. Honorary pallbearers will be Men of Trinity Baptist Church.
The family has requested that remembrances be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 679 Lee Place Road, N.E., Ludowici, Georgia 31316.
