Mrs. Tena "Sister" Jones Morris, 71, of Riceboro, was called to eternal rest on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.
She was born in Riceboro to the late Mobley and Nancy Banks Jones. Tena was the owner of Tina's Deli, where she cooked and touched the lives of so many people in the community.
Survivors include her loving husband, Joe Neal Morris Sr. of Riceboro; four daughters, Janice Morris Relaford, Jacqueline Barrett, Julia Bennett and Carolyn (Fred) Ferguson; two sons, Joe Neal (Sabrina) Morris Jr. and James Earl Morris, all of Riceboro; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Randolph (Genevia) Jones Sr., Jimmie T. (Victoria) Jones Sr., Charlie (Mattie) Jones Sr. and John (Cecila) Jones Sr., all of Riceboro; one sister, Nevie Holmes of Allenhurst; sisters-in-law, Jewel and Rosie Morris of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Esther Morris of Atlanta, Mattie Stoudermire of Centerville, Ala., and Elouise Morris of Riceboro; a godchild, Ciera Roberts of Midway; and a host of other relatives and close friends.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at First African Baptist Church of Riceboro.
Her funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at First African Baptist Church in Riceboro.
Dorchester Funeral Home of Midway is in charge of the arrangements.
