Mr. Lewis Morrison Jr., 90, of Hinesville departed this life on Jan. 14, 2013, in Savannah.

He was born April 18, 1922, to the late Mr. Lewis Morrison Sr. and Mrs. Florence Blue Morrison in Midway.
He received his education from Dorchester Academy in Midway. In 1942, he joined the United States Army and he served for two years.
For 65 years, Lewis was united in holy matrimony to the former Helen J. Griffin. He was employed by General Motors as a machine operator in New Brunswick, N.J., for many years and retired from Brunswick Rubber Company, where he was a supervisor.
Lewis was a faithful member and served on the trustee board of Mt. Zion AME church in New Brunswick. After moving to Hinesville, with his wife in 1992, he became an active member and trustee at St. Peter's AME church in Midway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Evelyn Lambert, Wilemena Baalam, Hazel Maxwell, Earnest Morrison, Leona Edmond, Lawrence Morrison Sr. and Christine Baker.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Helen J. Morrison; sister, Lillie Bell Beckett; special niece, Christia Cooper; special nephews, Lonnie D. Cooper and Lawrence Morrison Jr. (caregiver); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty J. Morrison, Doris Hooper, Willo (Fred) Thomas, Exie Mae (Heck) Thomas, O.B. Griffin and Birton (Emma Lou) Griffin; and a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
His funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at St Peter's AME Church, 5394 E. Oglethorpe Highway, Midway. His body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. for viewing. Interment will be in Midway Congregational UCC, Cemetery.
