Mr. Larry D. Sherrod, 65, of Midway passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Sherrod was born in Lyons, Ga., to the late Orville and Frances Sherrod. He was also preceded in death by his brother, O.J. Sherrod, Jr.
He graduated from Groves High School and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist, was an avid fisherman and hunter, and retired from Bobcat of Savannah.
Survivors include his wife, Donna J. Sherrod; children, Kellie Middleton and her husband, Kevin, and Larry David Sherrod, Jr. and his wife, Karen; grandchildren, Elizabeth Mae Middleton and David Chase Sherrod; niece, Lisa Kersey; great-nephew, Cody Kersey; uncle, Cleveland Oglesby and his wife, Ellen; and many cousins.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the chapel of Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes, West Chatham Chapel, 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
