Mrs. Lillie Mae James Winn, 71, departed this life on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at her Walthourville residence.

Mrs. Winn was the widow of Frank Winn. She was born in Liberty County to Minnie Holmes James and the late Isaac James. For years she worked as a nursing aide in local nursing homes, but she found her passion with Georgia Clients Council (GCC). She was affiliated with GCC for more than 35 years. She was also affiliated with Family Connections and as a lay advocate.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Mary T. James of Jesup; a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Ronald Williams Sr.; her mother, Minnie James of Midway; a brother, Willie Lee James of Midway; two sisters, Lois Dozier of Walthourville and Rosa Walthour of Hinesville; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Her biewing will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Dorchester Funeral Home, 7842 E. Oglethorpe Hwy. in Midway.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at First Born Holiness Church on Poplar Street in Jesup. Bishop A.J. Myles will be the eulogist and Pastor Michael Swint will preside. Interment will be in St. James Church Cemetery, 1140 Holmestown Road, Midway.
Dorchester Funeral Home of Midway has charge of the arrangements.
