1SG Robert Blue (ret.) of Hinesville, passed quietly and peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014. Almighty God, in his infinite wisdom, gently closed the eyes of our loved one and entered him into eternal life after a short illness.
He was the son of the late Deacon John and Deaconess Lennie Blue, and was born in Dillon, S.C. 1SG Robert Blue and family came to Fort Stewart in July 1975 for his tour of duty as the NCOIC of the X-ray Department at Winn Army Community Hospital. He retired in 1987, after faithfully serving his country with 24 years of military service and made his home in the Hinesville area.
Visitation will begin from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. from the Glennville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the U.S. Army.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Eleven Black Men of Liberty County, C\O Mr. Barry Chapman, Pres., P.O. Box 96, Hinesville, GA 31310.
