Robert "Pa Pa" Howard of Riceboro departed this earthly life Friday morning, Dec. 6, 2013, at home.
He was the fourth child of the late Mr. Peter Howard Jr. and Mrs. Frances Howard.
Robert was educated in Liberty County public schools, and later had a very long and successful career in the heating and air (HVAC) profession. He enjoyed his work and was employed as a service technician by Bennett Heating and Air and Bob Leach Heating and Air in Hinesville for more than 25 years. Robert also enjoyed landscaping and helping his mother with repairs and maintenance around the house.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Peter Howard Jr., and his brother, Mr. Pete Howard.
His survivors include his caring wife, Mrs. Natalie Jones Howard of Jacksonville; one son, Mr. Robert Howard Jr. of Jacksonville; one daughter, Ms. Cynetra Howard of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Ashanti Dawn Mattison, Camille Jelessia Howard, Isaiah Leviticus Mattison and Natalya Denise Mattison, all of Jacksonville; a very loving mother, Mrs. Frances Howard of Riceboro; four brothers, Mr. Larry (Velma) Howard of Midway, Mr. Kenneth (Mavis) Howard of Riceboro, Mr. Troy Howard of Allenhurst and Mr. Avery T. Howard of Allenhurst; four sisters, Mrs. Karen (Tim) Brown, Ms. Edna M. Clark and Ms. Angela Stevens, all of Hinesville, and Mrs. Shelease (Jonathan) Horn of Chicago; two very dear friends, Mr. Calvin Jones of Jacksonville and Mr. George Alvin of Riceboro; 96 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Dorchester Funeral Home in Midway.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 9235 E.B. Cooper Highway, Riceboro.
Pallbearers will be Justin West, Keith Wynn, Richard Lecounte, Shawn Wynn, Joey Hudson, Craig Brown Jermaine Wynn and Isaiah Wynn III. The Rev. Curtis J. Lemon will officiate.
