Todd Lamont Hopkins, 47, of Fleming, entered eternal rest on June 8, 2013, at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his pastor, family and friends.
He was born in Los Angeles to loving parents, Richard "Dickie" Hopkins and Henrietta Mclemore Hopkins. His mother preceded him in death.
After graduating from high school in 1983, Todd joined the United States military. He served his country honorably from 1983 until 1998. While stationed at Fort Stewart, he met Elsie Jones and they were married in holy matrimony on June 13, 1987. Todd was a faithful member of Live Oak Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Israel Aaron Cowart until his health failed. He was currently employed by Bottom Line Logistics.
He leaves to cherish his memory to a loving wife, Elsie; and his two sons, Dimitrieus and Isaiah. He also leaves his father, Richard "Dickie" Hopkins (Cathy Smith) of California; eldest brother, Mark Hopkins; and youngest, brother, Blake Hopkins of California; father-in-law, Louis Jones; grandmother, Rosa Lee Jones; mother-in-law, Beatrice Mitchell; uncles, Steve and Chris of California; aunts, Renita, Alice, Patricia, Loretta and Valerie of California; in-laws, Michelle Jones of Texas, Cheryl Gaines (Rodney), Louis Jones (Tina), Sheila Jones of Texas (Darrell), Steven Jones (Rakesha) Tonia Carson-Grady (Ulysses); and a host of aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, at Live Oak Church of God, 296 Live Oak Church Road, Hinesville. His body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. for viewing until the hour of the service. The committal service will be at 3 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 8819 Highway 301, Glennville.
