Mr. Edward L. Wilson departed this life Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville.

Mr. Wilson was born Jan. 13, 1949, to the late Henry James and Leola Wilson Ellison. His sister, Janice Wilson and niece Davida Wilson preceded him in death.
He was a native of Liberty County and was educated in the school system of Liberty County. At an early age, he accepted Christ and attended First African Baptist Church. He later joined Faith Miracle and Deliverance Church in Carnegie. He was employed by Proman Logging Company in Richmond Hill for many years.
Mr. Wilson leaves to cherish his memory four brothers, Mr. Kevin Jones, Mr. Daniel Jones, Mr. Mark Jones, all of Buffalo, N.Y., and Mr. Karl Jones of Philadelphia; one devoted aunt, Ms. Pearl Wilson; aunts, Ms. Helen (Charles) Lambert, Ms. Leona Wilson, Ms. Nancy James, Ms. Margaret Stewart, Ms. Peggy James, all of Riceboro, Ms. Daisy Wykcoff of Fleming and Ms. Annie Kate James of Buffalo; two uncles, Deacon Ernest (Deborah) Wilson of Riceboro and Mr. Jesse James of Buffalo; two special nephews, Mr. Clearice Wilson of Riceboro and Jawan Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev.; two special cousins, Reggie and Allison Hubbard; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
His viewing will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Dorchester Funeral Home in Midway.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at First African Baptist Church on Barrington Ferry Road in Riceboro with interment in the church cemetery.
