James A. Diller, 53, of Walthourville died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, under the care of Hospice Savannah after a courageous yearlong battle with brain cancer.

A native of Pittsburgh, Penn., he was a resident of Liberty County for 25 years. He was a retired federal corrections officer, having worked in federal service for 33 years, and an Air Force and Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Diller; and brother, Bobby Diller.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Walthourville; sons, Stephen Croft (Feroza) of Atlanta and Randall Croft (Scott) of West Hollywood, Calif.; daughter, Christina Graves of Rincon; mother, Delores Ann Diller of Kittanning, Penn.; and granddaughter, Anna.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Committal with military honors will be at 3 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville. Father Keith O'Neal will officiate.
