The angels came peacefully on the evening of Aug. 1, 2014, to take Sister Essie Walthour of Miami, FL, home. She fought a good fight. She finished her course.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Rev. James Walthour, and a sister, Lena Williams.
She leaves to cherish in sweet memories her loving, daughters, Leola McKally (Rev. Henry C. McKally) and Jessie M. Murray, both of Miami; three grandchildren, Henry Charles McKall, II. (Shannon) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jessica McKally of Miami and Trenise Murray of Minnesota; one great-grandchild, Gavin James McKally; one brother, James Williams (Albertina) of Riceboro; three sisters, Betty Williams of Riceboro, Rosetta Scott (Dale) of Hinesville and Laura Christine Joyner of Miramar, FL; four brothers-in-law, Eddie Walthour (Shirley), the Rev. Charles Carson (Sylvia), Frank Austin (Carolyn) and Robert Austin (Michelle); godson, Kevin Finkley; very special friend, Mary Williams; a very special cousin, Vernia Rolle; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
In Miami, funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Range Funeral Home, which has has charge of arrangements.
There will be a memorial service for Mrs. Walthour from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the Frank V. Givens Memorial Chapel of Dorchester Funeral Home in Midway.
Interment will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, in the First Anderson Grove Church Cemetery in Riceboro.
