Richard Arthur Fabregas, 55, departed this life on Jan. 2, 2013, at his residence in Hinesville.

Mr. Fabregas was born in Bronx, N.Y., to Arturo and Maria Aponta Fabregas. He was a decorated soldier, having served his country honorably for more than 24 years. His primary specialty was field artillery automation.
He was a great father, husband, friend and a die-heart fan of the New York Giants and New York Yankees.
Those who mourn his passing but celebrate his life include his wife of 19 years, Vieta S. Caldwell-Fabregas; his children, Marc Anthony, Dominique Alexander, Danielle Marie Fabregas, Joseph Caldwell-Jones and Jeremy Caldwell-Fabregas; his mother, Maria Aponta Fabregas; a sister, Valerie Fabregas-Kilbridge and her son, Jim Kilbridge; and a host of other family and friends.
His viewing will be from 9-11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Dorchester Funeral Home in Midway. His funeral service will follow at noon in the Frank V. Givens Memorial Chapel at Dorchester Funeral Home, 7842 E. Oglethorpe Highway with full military honors.
