Mrs. Lelia Mae Bacon, 79, quietly passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at her residence in Midway.

Born in Midway to the late Henry Golden and Claudia James, Mrs. Bacon was a lifelong resident of Liberty County. Her husband, John Bacon, preceded her in death. She was homemaker, loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by six sons, Arthur T. Long of Jacksonville, Chester Long, Edgar Bacon, Eric (Glenda) Bacon, Gerald Bacon and Michael Bacon, all of Midway; seven daughters, Thelma Bacon, Christine Bacon, both of Midway, Catherine Long, Robbie S. Bacon, Karen Bacon, Cheryl Bacon and Liz Bacon, all of Jacksonville; four brother, Arthur Golden, Fred Golden, Joe Golden, all of Midway, and Willie Edward Golden of Jacksonville; one sister, Magdelene Holmes of Midway; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, at Dorchester Funeral Home in Midway.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in the Frank V. Givens Memorial Chapel of the funeral home, 7842 E. Oglethorpe Highway, Midway. Pastor Horace Oliver will officiate.
Interment will be in St James Cemetery in Midway.
