Michael was a resident of Long County and attended the Long County Schools.
Michael accepted Jesus as his personal savior under the ministry of the late Elder Paul Stevens. Michael did not let the injuries from the automobile accident 23 years ago dim his beautifully smile. Michel loved the Lord and was a joyful blessing to the residents and staff at the Pine Hill Nursing Center in Cordele. Michael did not allow his injuries to deter him from serving and worshipping God. Michael was the miracle preacher. He loved the people. Dearest to his heart was his mother.
2 Timothy 4:6, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter and grandchildren, Sarah Trafton (Jason) Herron, Kale Herron, K'mile Herron of Norfolk, Va.; parents, Willene (David) Nelson, of Midway and Theodore (Debra) Lee, of Chicago; grandmothers, Doris D. Baker of Ludowici and Mary Lee of Philadelphia; brothers, Brad Perry, David Nelson Jr., both of Midway, Brian Lee and Brandon Lee, both of Chicago; aunts, Lucy Deloach, Meacie Baker, Marie (Glenn) Baker, all of Ludowici, Jetty Ann (Lowe) Williams of Whiteville N.C.; Eloise (Larry) Slater of Tampa, Fla.; and Ollie Mae Roberts of Ludowici; uncles, Charles Jones (Baker), Edward J.
