COPITHORNE, David Bruce
May 27, 1943 - May 27, 2016
Dave Copithorne of Jumping Pound, Alberta, passed away
peacefully with his family by his side on his 73rd birthday
after a courageous battle against ALS. Dave lived his
entire life on the family cattle ranch west of Calgary
and was an avid outdoorsman from farming and
ranching to hiking, skiing, boating and dancing.
He was an active member of the St. Andrew's United
Church and volunteered on various committees
including the annual food drive. Dave will be lovingly
remembered and dearly missed by his wife of
49 years, Miriam; daughter Debbie (Pat) and son,
Neil Copithorne as well as his five grandchildren:
George (Larissa), Lindsey, Jade, Angus and Lewis Wharmby
as well as his extended family. A special thank-you to Jane of the ALS
Society of Alberta for her compassionate care and support.
A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at
2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Church (128 - First Street E, Cochrane,
AB). In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's memory may be made to the
ALS Society of Alberta (7874 - 10 Street NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8W1).
