DARROCH,Gary Charles
April 23, 1951 – March 3, 2017
Gary Charles Darroch, most recently of Sundre, Alberta and
formerly of Cochrane, Alberta, passed away on Friday, March 3,
2017 at the Red Deer Hospital. He was born in Calgary, Alberta on
April 23, 1951, the only child of Charles and Viola (Toots) Darroch.
Gary was a character - incredibly intelligent – an avid reader and a history buff. He was
an amazing singer and loved to perform at the Cochrane Legion and later at Sundre's
Stetson's Saloon.
Gary was a member of the Cochrane Legion for over 30 years and very much enjoyed his
Cochrane Legion comrades and pints. He served the Legion as Branch President, various
roles on the executive and he played in the Men of Vision Pipes and Drums.
Gary leaves behind his best friend for the past 14 years Rose Jenic; his three children
Jennifer, Rebecca and Charles; his cousins Vicki (Turk) Deeton and Ron (Judy) Fenton
and numerous other relatives and dear friends.
Heartland Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
A gathering to celebrate Gary's life will be held at the Cochrane Legion on Saturday
March 11, 2017 at 1 pm.
