Moir, Ruth Annie (Field)
June 26, 1921 - July 6, 2017
Marilyn and Heinz Unger sadly share with friends the passing of
Marilyn's mother, whose health declined after an emergency
appendectomy at age 95.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Ed and Vera Field; by Jack,
her beloved husband of 62 years; an infant grand-daughter, Carina
A. Moir; by her brothers Robert (Bob) Field, Arthur and George
Whitlock and sister Mary Giesbrecht. She will be greatly missed
by her children: Marilyn (Heinz) Unger, Vera Moir, Janne (Lyle)
Tabler, Bruce (Dianne) Moir and lan (Terri) Moir and her
9 grand-children; Kris and Valerie Unger, Sarah, Asha and Matthew
Tabler, Joel and Chandra Moir and Michael and Allicia Moir; by her sister,
Edna James, brothers, Wilfred and Don (Sheila) Whitlock and
by many nieces and nephews.
Many wonderful people cared for Mom: care-givers from Home Instead, and the staff at
both the Foothills Hospital and at the Brentwood Care Centre. Your skillful care, gentleness,
compassion and support to her and the family are deeply appreciated.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 2:00pm at
St David's United Church (3303 Capitol Hill Crescent NW Calgary) with
Reverend Peggy McDonagh officiating.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Mom's memory may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the
Blind (CNIB) at 15 Col. Baker Pl., NE Calgary T2E 4Z3, or a charity close to your heart.
