Jack passed away peacefully in his own home joining his beloved wife Joyce of almost 50 years who preceded him six years ago. He struggled bravely with diabetes and other complications for many years until succumbing to renal failure. Jack grew up in Auburn, attended Placer High School where he meet and married school sweetheart Joyce. After graduating, Jack served his country in the US Navy for 4 years then worked with his brother Jerry and father Francis Reeves, owner of Reeves Motor Co. After Francis' passing in 1969, Jack and Jerry ran the business for many successful years until Jack pursued new adventures in Oregon. Jack and Joyce raised three children, Jack embraced being a dedicated and loving husband, father, uncle, cousin and dear friend to many in the community. Jack lived a full and happy life, he enjoyed jeeping, camping, fishing, hunting and coaching his sons' baseball and Pop Warner football teams. He was always a very proud father, watching his kids play at Placer as he did. In 1980 Jack and family moved to Mt.Vernon Oregon to a 1600 acre ranch where they worked the land and raised cattle for several years. In 1993 Jack and Joyce moved to Sandy, Oregon where he worked for the Post Office until he retired. While in Sandy they enjoyed watching their grandchildren play basketball, baseball and football. Jack and Joyce moved back to California in 2007 and built a beautiful home next to their son Tim (Karin) to further enjoy watching their youngest grandson Colton grow and play sports, but also to enjoy all the family in the area that they have missed for so long while they were away in Oregon.
Jack is preceded by his wife Joyce, his parents Francis and Georgia Reeves, sister Cynthia Harrison, best friend Mike "Woody" Woodside. Survived by brother Jerry (Sandra) Reeves, brother-in-law George Harrison, daughter Laurie (Bruce) Driscoll of N Highlands, son Tim (Karin) Reeves of Colfax, son Bob (Sandy) Reeves of Gresham, Oregon, Grandchildren Rochelle, Bryan, Jackie, Justin, Colton and Staysha. Great grandchildren Mason and Taylor plus many more extended family members. All of his family and friends will miss him dearly but ultimately those close to him know that Jack has been called to Heaven to join the love of his life Joyce, where they will be watching over us all.
A private Celebration of Life was already held for Jack. Family will be holding another ceremony to inter both Jack and Joyce together in the new Auburn Cemetery at their final resting place. Announcement will be coming later this summer so all their family and friends may attend.
