Scott Charles Hillestad
5/19/1964-8/25/2018
Born May 19, 1964, passed away on August 25, 2018. Scott was born in Minnesota. His family moved to California in 1967. He attended Sierra Gardens Elementary, Eich Junior High School and Oakmont High School, Aall in Roseville. He graduated from Oakmont High School in 1982 where he excelled in the classroom and at football. He was the SFL League Football Defensive Player of the Year his senior year. He continued to work at Allstate for the past 30-years. He was most recently the Team Leader for the Special Investigation Unit.
Scott enjoyed watching sports live and on TV and especially college and pro football. And even more so with his mom and dad on fall weekends. He loved all types of music. He had an enormous CD & LP collection, everything from Elvis to Prince.
Scott would say the two most important things in his life were his faith in God and his family. He was a caring son, brother, husband, father and friend. Hope you and Dad are up there jammin' to some cool jazz together. You were one of the best souls I have ever known. God bless to his parents and family.

I Knew Scott for a short period of time, working with him in Roseville, CA at Allstate. I had moved to the area from Minnesota where he was from. We both shared our Love for Jesus Christ and talked about Him openly. Being from Minny, we both loved our Vikings, Twins, Wild, and Gophers; and followed the highs and lows of being a Minnesota sports fan. So close to the Super Bowl last year, I wish could have happened for Scott. May the Lord Jesus Christ give the family His peace and comfort during this time. He was taken way too young, but He gets to see Jesus and worship and serve Him now.

A wonderful person taken way too soon. I was so upset to hear about is passing. We walked in Mrs. Jacks Kindergarten class together and graduated from OHS in 1982 together. I have many memories growing up with Scott and our Sierra Gardens group. He was always so kind to everyone!
My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. May your faith and love carry peace to your heart.

I wish we had known each other better and outside of a stressful work environment. I think we could have been Good Friends. We were UC Davis alum Brothers. You are now at Peace my Friend. You will always be on my mind.
