In Loving Memory
Cynthia Bernice (Wilson) Salas
1922 - 2013

Bernice Salas, 91, daughter of David Wilson and Lovie Harper Wilson, passed away on June 13, 2013. Bernice was born on May 22, 1922 in Malvern, Arkansas and later moved to California. Bernice was employed for 26 years as an "Allowance Specialist" at McClellan Air Force Base. Bernice worked very hard her whole life with farming and raising cattle. She was well known as "Nanny" to all of her family and was loved beyond measure. She loved to play guitar, sing and was a great story teller. She was a Great Mother, Grandmother and friend and always gave advice on whatever her children needed. She had a wonderful sense of humor and made everyone around her laugh. Bernice taught her children to work hard, enjoy life but most of all to love God. She lost the love of her life, Ted Salas, after 66 years of marriage on December 5, 2012, so a great reunion is now taking place. She was a member of the Wheatland Community Church.
Bernice is survived by her son, David Gorden; daughters, Teresa (Warren) Bostick and Sharon (Barry ) Barnes; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday June 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Wheatland Community Church 4753 Wheatland Road, Wheatland, Calif. Burial to follow services at Manzanita Cemetery.
