Deluvina (Della) Luna returned to God, the Giver-of-Life, in Roseville, California on June 6, 2013 at the age of 76 after a lengthy illness and kidney failure. She was a longtime resident of Roseville having moved there in 1956.
Della was born in Roswell, New Mexico on July 25, 1936 to Manuel and Lucia Espinoza. She was one of five children and was predeceased by her parents, and by her siblings Ema Sanchez and Suzy Padilla. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Alvino Pena Luna, on October 12, 2012, and by her beloved son Eric A. Luna, in 2009.
Mrs. Luna retired from Mercy San Juan Hospital after 25 years of employment and worked for six years for Sam's Club. Her loving family members and friends will forever remember her as a wonderful mother and grandmother who was fiercely devoted to her family and very proud of her Native American heritage.
She is survived by her son, Michael Luna (Rozanne) and daughter Nadine Reyes (Richard), and by her brother Richard Espinoza (Alice) and sister Anita Christy. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: (Stacey Lewis, Jessica Reyes, Renee Hatfield, Monika Reyes, Nicole Holmes, Denise Miller and Mike Luna) and nine great-grandchildren: (Hayes Holmes, Davis Miller, Madison Miller, Emilio Olivares, Gabriel Olivares, Nino Hatfield, Cruz Hatfield, Austin Lewis and J.C. Lewis).
