Duane Fiddyment

Duane Martin Fiddyment, 64, of Elk Grove, California, passed away in his sleep at his home on July 28, 2013. Born in Roseville, California to David and Dolly Fiddyment, Duane was a fifth generation descendent of a pioneer family of California.
Duane was an extremely passionate man who enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and was overall a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. As a young man he became an Eagle Scout. He worked as a computer programmer and technician, loved innovation, technology and growing in knowledge. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, sailing, flying, farming, and travel.
After a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2004, Duane bravely fought for an additional nine years of life. With each diagnosis he embraced progressive treatment for an ultimate cure and return to those who deeply love him.
Duane was loving and proud of his three daughters, Merissa Mulé and her husband Michael of Richmond, Virginia, Meghan Jimenez and her husband Daniel of Elk Grove, California, and Amanda Fiddyment of Elk Grove, California. He is also survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Karyl Lynn Fiddyment; his two sisters, Diane Fiddyment and Deborah Fiddyment; his five grandchildren: Juan, David, Emily, Riley and Adam; as well as his aunt, many cousins, nieces, nephews and innumerable friends. Duane was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
A special thank you to Sutter Oncology, especially his doctor and friend, Dr. Elias Kiwan, who was there for Duane and his family during his courageous fight.
A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate Duane's life on Monday, August 5, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Fremont Presbyterian Church, 5770 Carlson Drive, Sacramento, CA 95819. Memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in lieu of flowers.
